Meet the Artist

I'm the face of Benita Jean, and I go by Jeanette. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember—starting with comic strips in kindergarten and never really stopping.

As a Utah native, I grew up drawing & paying attention to the little things: colors, expressions, the way environments shape how people feel. That curiosity turned into formal training in painting and drawing at the University of Utah—and eventually into mural work that lets me create on a larger, more human scale.

Over the past three years, I’ve focused on mural painting, working with homeowners, businesses, and communities to create pieces that feel intentional—not generic.

But beyond the work itself, I care about the experience of working together. I’m big on communication, clarity, and making sure people feel heard throughout the process. Art is personal—and I treat it that way.

The Beginning of Benita Jean

Benita Jean was born in an unexpected place—the wrestling ring.

For a brief but defining chapter of my life, I stepped into the Utah wrestling scene—where presence wasn’t optional, and hesitation got exposed quickly. It wasn’t about being the most technical or the most experienced. It was about showing up fully, owning the space, and committing without apology. Outside of the ring, I was Jeanette. But once I stepped into the ring, I was Benita Jean, fiercely captivating and strong-willed.

That same mindset carries into every project. Whether it’s a blank wall or a custom piece, Benita Jean shows up prepared, focused, and ready to execute—start to finish.
